Duque, Galvez to get COVID-19 vaccine jabs today

MANILA – Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. and Health secretary Francisco Duque III will be vaccinated with Sinovac’s coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine this morning to boost public confidence in COVID-19 injections, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go said.

Ibig sabihin nagtiwala sila sa bakunang ito,” Go told DZBB AM radio on Sunday.

Galvez will have his vaccination at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila. Duque, on the other hand, will have his jab at the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City.

The two have previously expressed their desire to be inoculated with Sinovac’s vaccine in public to erase their doubts on the vaccine.

Go further said President Rodrigo Duterte will also have his shot but is waiting for his doctor’s advice if what brand of COVID-19 vaccine suits a senior citizen like him.

Around 600,000 doses of the Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in the country on Sunday./PN
