Duterte appoints Bacoleño anti-graft commissioner

BACOLOD City – President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Atty. Jesus Hinlo of Barangay Taculing, Bacolod City as a commissioner in the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC).

Also a former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) undersecretary, Hinlo took his oath of office before Mayor Evelio Leonardia at the Bacolod City Government Center, on  Jan. 25.

Hinlo recently resigned as member of the Board of Directors of the Land Bank of the Philippines. He was appointed to the Board by Duterte in 2017.

Leonardia described Hinlo as a very competent lawyer with the necessary experience and skill-set to fulfill his duties. 

In a Facebook post, Hinlo stated, “The task in helping our President investigate and fight corruption under the PACC’s jurisdiction is both difficult and sensitive. “

“With the administration coming to its end, I chose not to abandon our President. I will help him and the PACC in our country’s fight against graft and corruption. I am humbled with the President’s choice and trust in appointing me to such a very sensitive post,” Hinlo added.
