MANILA – The Philippines has once again showed its dominance in Southeast Asian basketball even on Esports basketball.

E-Gilas Pilipinas swept Indonesia in the 2020 FIBA Esports Open.

The national team completed a five-game sweep of Indonesia with a 71-35 annihilation on Sunday evening, capturing the Southeast Asian Conference championship.

It was a tight game in the first two quarters. E-Gilas was only up, 22-16, before unloading a huge start in the second half to blow the match wide open and lead by as much as 39 points at 71-32.

Two-time NBA 2K Asia Champion Rial Polog Jr. spearheaded the lopsided win with 25 points, including three outside hits.

Custer Galas added 17 points while Aljun Cruzin contributed 15 markers.

The 36-point victory was the biggest winning margin for E-Gilas. It led by an average of 30.8 points over Indonesia in the first four matches.

Aside from Polog, Galas and Cruzin, other members of the E-Gilas Pilipinas were NBA 2K18 Asia Champion Philippe Alcaraz Herrero IV, Clark Banzon, and reserves David John Timajo and Rocky Braña.
