ECC orients admin officers in Negros about EC benefits

BACOLOD City – The administrative officers of the government and officers of district hospitals in Negros Occidental were oriented about the compensation benefits of Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) during the seminar held on Nov. 26.

According to one of the participants, Merly Magallanes, she is grateful for the orientation on the benefits of Employees Compensation program conducted by ECC; such initiative is of great help and it provides great information to deliver prompt services to government employees.

The Employees’ Compensation Program is a government social protection program for work-related sickness and injury for government and private Filipino workers. Benefits on the Employees’ Compensation Program shall be filed under the Government Service Insurance System on three years since the time the incident had happened.

Benefits included are loss of income benefits, medical, career’s allowance, death, funeral, and rehabilitation services for persons with work-related disability.

ECC regional officer Stephen Barredo said that the session with administrative officers, as front liners for the employees’ benefits, is a great step towards assuring effective information and public assistance to our government workers whenever they have work-related concerns.

“The ECC, headed by DOLE (Department of Labor and Employment) secretary Silvestre Bello III and ECC executive director Stella Banawis, always assures appropriate government assistance through policies on equalizing, expanding and enhancing benefits and services under the Employees’ Compensation Program,” Barredo added./PN
