MANILA — Filipino gymnast Karl Jahrel Eldrew Yulo sustained his strong international showing by capturing his second bronze medal in the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup, finishing third in the men’s horizontal bar event on Monday night in Cairo, Egypt.
Yulo tallied a score of 13.733 in the finals to secure a podium finish, trailing China’s Li Honqyan, who clinched the gold with 14.400, and Cyprus’ Georgiou Marios, who settled for silver with 13.900.
The young Filipino gymnast showed early promise in the final round and even held the lead at one point before being overtaken as the competition progressed.
The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), which announced the feat on its social media page, lauded Yulo for his continued excellence on the global stage.
“He mirrors his Junior Worlds success by clinching the Bronze in the Horizontal Bar Final! With a massive score of 13.733, our young champion continues to make history,” GAP said.
Earlier in the tournament, Yulo also secured a bronze medal in the men’s floor exercise, completing a two-medal haul in the prestigious meet.
The latest achievement further cements Yulo’s rising stature in international gymnastics, as he continues to deliver consistent podium finishes against elite competitors.
