Escalante teacher nabbed for breaking gun ban

BACOLOD City – A public high school teacher was nabbed for breaking the Commission on Elections’ gun ban in Escalante City, Negros Occidental.

Police confiscated a .45-caliber gun with a live bullet and two empty magazines from 29-year-old Alde Jarina Villar of Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City.

Villar was caught while attending a reunion in Escalante National High School around 7 p.m. on Saturday, police said.

He was detained in the lockup cell of the Escalante City police station, facing charges./PN
