MANILA – It’s good news for motorists as they should expect a big time rollback in the prices of fuel products to be implemented next week, the Department of Energy (DOE) said on Saturday.
According to Energy undersecretary Felix Fuentebella, the DOE observed that last week’s international oil trading might affect the domestic prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene as follows:
Gasoline may decrease by around P0.80 per liter
Diesel may decrease by around P0.90 per liter
Kerosene may decrease by around P1.10 per liter
“Adjustments on petroleum products are applied every Tuesday of the week. Please note however that these findings may still be affected by the Friday trading activities which will be accessed on Monday,” Fuentebella noted.
The Energy official added that the DOE stringently monitors trading of oil products in the international market and analyzes its effects on the domestic pump prices as mandated by the Oil Deregulation Law of 1998.
“Meanwhile, the DOE encourages the public to stay vigilant and report to the DOE Consumer Welfare Office any violation of the law, rules and regulations by the petroleum products suppliers (i.e. quality and/or safety issues),” he said. (GMA News)
