Farmer caught for ‘illegal possession of firearms’

ROXAS City – Charged with illegal possession of firearms, a man was caught in Sitio Karatagan, Barangay Taslan, Dumarao, Capiz.

The 50-year-old farmer Hernani Saldevia of Sitio Nabaye, Barangay Duran, Dumalag, Capzi was arrested around 12 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.

Saldevia was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant the court issued in relation to Criminal Case No. C-18-1929-09 that he faces.

Saldevia allegedly violated Section 28 of Republic Act 01591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

He was detained. An P80,000 bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN

‘Cara y cruz’ lands 5 Jordan men in jail

GUIMARAS – For alleged illegal gambling, five men were arrested in Sitio Aguilay, Barangay Roozal, Jordan town, a police report showed.

They were Danny Casenabo, Jeffrey Esler, Emilio Gallego, Alex Marquillena, and John Pasaporte.

The men were caught around 11:40 p.m. on Monday after police chanced upon them playing cara y cruz.

Recovered from their possession was P900 gambling money, police said.

Arrest warrant served in Tangalan

KALIBO, Aklan – He allegedly violated Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

Teodoro Del Rosario was nabbed in Barangay Poblacion, Tangalan, Aklan around 9:30 a.m. on Monday on the strength of an arrest warrant, a police report showed.

He was brought to the Tangalan municipal police station, where he was detained.

The court recommended a P72 ,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
