ILOILO City – A farmer was stabbed in Barangay Buntalan, Maasin, Iloilo.
The 53-year-old resident Stephen Cabrera sustained a stab wound on the back, a police report showed.
Police identified the suspect as 66-year-old resident Romeo Ocastro.
According to police investigators, Ocastro and Cabrera have a heated argument over the latter’s debt around 6:30 p.m. on Sep. 1.
This prompted Ocastro to stab Cabrera, the report added.
Cabrera was brought to the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district for treatment.
Ocastro, meanwhile, was detained in the Maasin municipal police station’s custodial facility./PN
