‘Fight illegal drugs and save future generation’

BACOLOD City – Fighting illegal drugs is one way to protect the future generation, said Police Station 6 commander Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman Jr.

Benoman said this as his police station led a drug summit at the Bacolod Adventist Elementary School in Barangay Taculing on Monday.

The summit was part of the antidrug awareness campaign of the Bacolod City Police Office.

Benoman said members of the community – regardless of age – must know the dangers of illegal drugs.

The summit – dubbed as Drug Awareness and Resistance Education – was conducted in partnership with the Department of Education.

It was attended by about 150 Grade 5 and 6 pupils.

“With the positive response from the school administration and support from parents, we believe that even if we cannot totally stop the widespread drug infiltration, we could at least reduce it significantly,” added Benoman./PN
