BACOLOD City – Fifteen terminated employees of the local government of Talisay City, Negros Occidental want the Civil Service Commission (CSC) order reinstating them implemented.

Talisay City Government Employees for Reform president Maria Corazon Robles said they sought help from Task Force Crusaders.

Robles said they received letters of nullification of appointments from Mayor Neil Lizares on Aug. 1, 2016. They filed an appeal at the CSC Region 6 that same month. By Dec. 2, the CSC decided in their favor, but Lizares filed a motion for reconsideration.

The employees also requested for further investigation of the CSC-Negros Occidental field office’s disapproval of their appointments. They believe there was “biased judgment.”

Three of them also received from the CSC Region 6 a letter denying their reinstatement, contradicting the Dec. 2, 2016 decision, Robles said.

They also asked Task Force Crusaders to help facilitate their case at the CSC central office where they filed a motion for execution.

Task force deputy commander John Chiong wrote CSC chairwoman Alicia de la Rosa-Bala and Deputy Ombudsman for Visayas Paul Elmer Clemente regarding the “illegal dismissal” of the 15 employees.

Chiong said the task force believes Lizares erred in dismissing the employees and hopes the CSC and the Ombudsman will look into the case fairly./PN
