SAN JOSE, Antique – The local government is taking care of a Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte resident who has drifted to this capital town’s municipal waters after flood carried her to the Sulu Sea.
The 25-year-old teacher Dianne Talling was currently recovering, according to Sibuco mayor Norbideiri Edding.
San Jose mayor Elmer Untaran called Edding to inform her about Talling, one of the victims of the floods that tropical storm “Vinta” triggered, Inquirer.net reported.
“They will take care of our survivor. One of her cousins is still undergoing medical treatment in Zamboanga City,” Edding said.
As of yesterday, the Department of Social Welfare and Development said there are about 23,775 families or 111,641 individuals staying in 231 evacuation centers while some 5,938 displaced families are staying with their relatives and friends./PN
