
ILOILO City – Four suspects, including two alleged high-value targets, were arrested in back-to-back anti-drug operations in this city within 24 hours, or from 6 a.m. of May 19 to 5:59 a.m. of May 20.
Police officers also seized approximately 221 grams of suspected shabu valued at around P1.5 million.
The biggest seizure was made by operatives from Police Station 4 in Barangay San Juan, Molo district. At around 3:40 p.m. on May 19, police arrested alias “Inday”, 52, tagged as a high-value suspect, and confiscated 100 grams of the said illegal substance with an estimated value of P680,000.
The second high-value target was caught at 11 p.m. on the same day in Barangay Tanza Bonifacio, City Proper district. Officers of the Police Station 7 identified the suspect as alias “Maria”, 28.
All four suspects are in police custody, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), lauded the Iloilo City Police Office for its relentless anti-drug efforts and emphasized the importance of community involvement in eliminating the drug trade.
