KAPAMILYA actress Francine Diaz is set to attend the first-ever Asia Star Entertainer Awards (ASEA) in Japan.

Diaz shared the good news through a social media post on Monday night as she invited her fans and followers to watch the event that will be held at Yokohama Arena in Japan today.

According to its website, ASEA is “an award ceremony where top artists representing Asia will perform and unite fans from all over the world through music.”

ASEA 2024 will feature K-pop and Asian artists who were active around the world over the past year.

Just last month, Diaz released “My Love,” her music collaboration with Korean star Seo In-guk who is best known for his role in the youth-oriented drama “Reply 1997.”

The collaboration came about after Seo met Diaz’s manager when he went to Manila last August for his fan meeting.

Diaz’s manager even told Seo that the Filipino artist was not really a singer, but the Korean heartthrob stood firm on working with her.

Recounting their first meeting in South Korea last December, Diaz admitted to feeling “intimidated” by Seo’s “aura.”

“But that changed when I saw that he was really nice, very friendly,” she said.

Seo, meanwhile, found Diaz to be “very cute.”

“She had this loving vibes about her. And when I looked up some of her previous works and pictures from her previous shoots, unlike her first impressions, I got this charismatic vibe from her as well. I realized that she has quite the versatile personality,” he said.

Diaz, who rose to fame via  the afternoon drama “Kadenang Ginto,” was also part of the hit shows “Dirty Linen” and  “Fractured.” (ABS-CBN News)
