FRANKIE Pangilinan admitted that she and her older half-sister, KC Concepcion, have not spoken to each other in a long time, while stressing that she continues to love her sister.
Pangilinan opened up about her relationship with Concepcion in an interview with Ogie Diaz, where she was asked about reports that the sisters have been distant from each other.
“Out of respect po for my parents, I may not divulge so much information, but I can say this confidently—that she will always be my sister,” she said.
Pangilinan acknowledged that there are family matters they are currently working through, but chose not to go into specifics.
“Every family naman has some things. We’re working on it,” she said.
Pangilinan also made it clear that she has never considered Concepcion merely a half-sister despite their different fathers.
“Never ko pong naisip na half-sister ko siya. Of course, biologically, that’s true, but as far as I’m concerned, I love her very much, and I think I can say I miss my sister very much,” she said. “We haven’t really spoken in a very long time.”
Pangilinan is Sharon Cuneta’s daughter with Sen. Francis Pangilinan, while Concepcion is the Megastar’s firstborn with actor Gabby Concepcion.
Last April, KC expressed her admiration for her mother and stepfather, as the couple celebrated their 30 years of marriage.
Pangilinan also pushed back against assumptions about their family based on what is posted online.
“Ang dami pong fake news and never ko pa pong nakita ’yung totoong nangyari in any shape online whatsoever,” she said.
“It will sound like defensive. Kaya ipapakita ko na lang everyday of my life at hindi ko na kailangang i-post na iko-contribute ko pa doon sa tsika na hindi naman totoo,” she added.
Frankie is set to make her acting debut in the biopic “Edjop,” which stars Jodi Sta. Maria and Elijah Canlas. The film is scheduled to open in cinemas nationwide on September 16. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
