ILOILO – In a coordinated effort by local law enforcement, two brothers and their cousin, all listed among the most wanted in Western Visayas, were apprehended on in Sitio Tibtib, Barangay Quipot, Janiuay town.

The individuals, known by the aliases “Harry”, “Joe” and “Bill”, were ranked as the No. 4, No. 6 and No. 5 fugitives in the region, respectively.

Their capture was executed through an arrest warrant for murder, concluding a year-long police manhunt.

The arrests occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on May 6.

The suspects are accused of murdering a relative on October 23, 2023 during a confrontation in Barangay Quipot over an old grudge.

The incident, which took place around 6:30 p.m., allegedly stemmed from longstanding personal animosities, resulting in the fatal hacking of the victim.

Major Rolando Araño, spokesperson for the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), reported that the operation involved several units including the Janiuay Municipal Police Station, the IPPO Intelligence Unit, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 6 (CIDG-6), and the 603rd Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6.

Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, officer-in-charge of the IPPO, highlighted the operation as a key part of the organization’s ongoing campaign to apprehend individuals with pending criminal charges and ensure they face justice./PN
