ILOILO City – The police of Pavia, Iloilo caught a woman in the act of soliciting bets for an illegal numbers game in Barangay Aganan.
Virginia Ybañez, a resident of Barangay Balabag, Pavia, was taken to the municipal police station.
Cops recovered from her possession P65 cash and a piece of paper containing various number combinations on April 7 around 10:45 a.m.
Ybañez faces a charge for violation of Republic 9287.
If found guilty of being a collector or agent (cabo, cobrador, coriador or variants thereof), she could suffer the penalty of imprisonment from eight years to 10 years./PN
