ILOILO City – A 17-year-old Grade 11 female student here complained to the police that two male chat mates she met raped her in Barangay Trapiche, Oton, Iloilo.
She passed out during a Sept. 22 drinking binge that started at around 9 p.m., she told the Oton police station.
She was raped while unconscious, she claimed.
The suspects were 18 and 19 years old. They initially invited her to the fiesta in Barangay Pakiad, Oton and met her at the public market, according to the girl.
There, they changed plans and agreed to just spend time binge drinking at a cottage in Barangay Trapiche, the girl told the police.
She was already in a tricycle bound for the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district when she regained consciousness, according to the girl.
The two boys apparently learned from her that she was taking care of a sick uncle in the hospital and decided to take her there.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Ma. Elena Doliguez, chief of the Oton police station’s Women and Children Protection Desk, their next move would depend on the result of the medical examination conducted on the girl.
One of the suspects reportedly sent surrender feelers already.
I would like to warn women, especially minors, not to trust anyone to avoid being sexually molested. Usually rape happens at drinking sessions,” said Doliguez./PN
