GLAIZA de Castro has addressed the viral video involving her non-showbiz husband, David Rainey, who was captured staring at actress Maris Racal during an event last December.

De Castro made a guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, Feb. 6, alongside her “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre” co-stars Kylie Padilla, Sanya Lopez and Gabbi Garcia.

During the episode, host Boy Abunda asked De Castro about the clip, which showed De Castro, Rainey and Racal on the same stage during the premiere night of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Unmarry” last December.

While they were on stage, Rainey occasionally looked in the direction of Racal. At some point, the latter was asked to speak before the audience. De Castro’s husband continued to stare at Racal while she was speaking. Despite the harmless interaction, netizens pointed it out.

De Castro said she was initially surprised by the reaction and immediately showed the video to her husband.

“I don’t have any controversial relationships, tapos nung binring up ‘yung premiere night, ang first reaction ko nun, pinakita ko kay David, ‘you’re trending,’” she said.

The actress recalled her husband’s reaction, saying he was confused by the sudden attention, sharing, “Sabi niya, ‘what? bloody hell.’”

De Castro underscored that Rainey is not used to being in public or appearing alongside celebrities because he is not part of the entertainment industry.

Syempre ang tendency ni David, parang anong gagawin ko dito, what do I do?’” she explained. “‘Di ba hindi naman din po siya kinakausap… Ang nagsalita nun si Kean, ako, si Maris.”

“So nung time na nagsasalita si Maris, of course tumitingin siya kay Maris, so ‘yun ‘yung explanation,” the Kapuso actress continued.

De Castro lamented that some online comments crossed the line, with netizens making unfounded accusations against her husband.

“‘Yung asawa mo, Glaiza, bantayan mo kasi may tendency siyang mag-cheat,” she stated.

The “Temptation of Wife” actress shared that the situation prompted her to consult her family about whether she should respond publicly but eventually decided to stay silent for her husband’s sake.

Gusto ko na talagang sumagot. I didn’t, especially po for David din,” she explained.

De Castro and David Rainey tied the knot in October 2021. The actress is fresh from attending the 2026 International Film Festival Rotterdam in the Netherlands for the world premiere of “58th,” the documentary film that revisits the Maguindanao Massacre through the story of its 58th victim.
