MANILA – The government is recruiting 25,000 health professionals to be deployed to rural areas next year.
The Department of Health has opened application windows at its regional offices for 20,527 nurses, 3,108 midwives, 446 physicians, and 324 dentists.
They will be deployed to the countryside between Jan. 2 and Dec. 31 next year, said Rep. Johnny Pimentel.
The Health department is also enlisting medical technologists, pharmacists, universal health care implementers, public health associates, and family health associates.
“We’ve already set aside P9.7 billion for their salaries and benefits next year,” Pimentel said.
Jobless health professionals or those who want to work in underserved areas while getting paid well are encouraged to sign up.
“Those who will join can use the experience and training to later on obtain even better jobs elsewhere,” Pimentel said.
Enlisted nurses will get P29,000 per month plus benefits while physicians will get P70,000 plus benefits, said the Health department.
The recruitment and selection of the additional health professionals started on Oct. 1 and will last until Dec. 31 this year. Application forms may be downloaded from the Health department’s website www.doh.gov.ph./PN
