ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Chinese New Year 2026 Grand Launch last February 16 at the SM City Iloilo Event Center, formally opened the citywide celebration with a grand cultural presentation that underscores unity and heritage.
Attended by key figures in the Iloilo Chinese Community, the Iloilo CNY 2026 rolls out a vibrant lineup of cultural showcases, festive décor, and lucky experiences that bring prosperity and joy to Ilonggo families.
With dazzling performances and snapshot-worthy moments around every corner, the mall transforms into a lively hub welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse with new beginnings which promises all out fun and celebration to the max.
The festive atmosphere begins at the Prosperity Pavilion at Northpoint from February 12 to 28, where red-and-gold installations and themed displays create the perfect backdrop for meaningful celebrations and family photos.
Adding rhythm and excitement to the lineup is the Lunar Beat Dance Show by PCD School of Performing Arts on February 17 and 18 at 4 PM at the Event Center, featuring dynamic performances that blend tradition and contemporary artistry.
Mallgoers also get the chance to snap a lucky moment with Cai Shen, the Chinese God of Wealth, on February 19 at 3 PM at Northpoint — a symbolic way of inviting prosperity for the year ahead.
Traditional Lion and Dragon Dance performances energize the celebration mallwide, beginning with Hua Siong College of Iloilo on February 20 at 11 AM. The school also presents Little Phoenix Kids’ Day: Wings of Wonder on February 21 at 3 PM at the Event Center, highlighting young performers and cultural pride.
The festivities continue on February 22 with another Lion and Dragon Dance at 11 AM and Fusion: Elements in Rhythm at 3 PM, both presented by Sun Yat Sen High School, showcasing the richness of Chinese heritage through music and movement.
