GUIMARAS — Gov. Ma. Lucille L. Nava, MD, formally signed the Province of Guimaras’ Annual Executive Budget for Fiscal Year 2026 on November 21, marking a renewed commitment to sustained development and responsible governance for the island province.
The signing also covered the 2026 Annual Executive Budget of the Local Economic Enterprise, specifically the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center (DCGNMC).
Under Appropriation Ordinance No. 2025-22 enacted by the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the provincial government allocated P1,288,465,420 for the general fund to support the operations and programs of the provincial government, while P334,640,000 was earmarked for the Local Economic Enterprise to ensure the efficient operation and service delivery of DCGNMC.
Governor Nava described the signing as a meaningful step toward shared progress.
“Today’s signing of the 2026 Annual Executive Budget for Guimaras is not just a procedural milestone—it is a bold statement of our commitment to progress, shared prosperity, and responsible governance for our beloved island,” she said, emphasizing the province’s consistent achievements over the years.
She also acknowledged the efforts of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan and department heads for their cooperation throughout the budget preparation and approval process.
“I would like to thank all members of this roundtable for prioritizing our people above all. Let this budget signing serve not just as a ceremony, but as a renewal of our collective promise to serve, uplift, and protect Guimaras—our home,” Governor Nava added.
Present during the ceremony were Vice Governor Cecile Gumarin, members of the 11th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and department heads at the Office of the Governor.
