JORDAN, Guimaras – A Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration center was opened on July 19 in Barangay San Miguel here.
It will serve Guimarasnons for the Step 2 of the registration process which is the capturing of biometric information.
The registration center is located at the ground floor of Galanto Building.
The Philippine Statistics Authority-Guimaras previously opened two registration centers in the municipalities of Nueva Valencia and Sibunag.
The PhilSys Registration team will operate 10 hours in a day for seven days a week.
“We are very supportive…so that mapadasig naton ang pagserbisyo sa bilog nga probinsya and at the same time we would also like nga maproteksyunan,” said Gov. Samuel Gumarin.
He emphasized the importance of the national ID especially during the pandemic.
“Ang data nga makuha naton sini nga ID will eventually (be used for) decision-making kun pila ka bilog, ano kag sin-o ang dapat ubrahan sang programa sang provincial government paagi sa nagkalain-lain nga pondo nga magaabot diri,” said Gumarin.
He urged Guimarasnons to register for their national ID.
For her part, Guimaras’ Cong. Ma. Lucille Nava said, “Magluwas nga may single identity system kita, ang pinaka-importante gid sa tanan, may valid proof of identity kita. This will serve as our single identification card nga magapamatuod nga ikaw isa ka Pilipino.”
The PhilSys Registration Center is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and shall cater an average of 60 registrants per day or an average of eight minutes per registrant translating to around seven to eight registrants per hour./PN
