ILOILO City – A gun running suspect in Arevalo district was arrested at around 5:05 p.m. on July 18 in Barangay San Jose.
Operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s Intelligence Unit and Police Station 6 identified the suspect as Jieben Villanueva, 28, of Alimodian, Iloilo and temporary residing in Barangay Sto. Rosario Duran, City Proper.
A police poseur-buyer was able to buy from the suspect a .45 pistol, two .45 magazines with two live cartridges for P12,000.
Villanueva was put under surveillance prior to his arrest.
Seized from the operation were the following:
* one black sling bag
* one P100 bill
* two cellular phones
* one combat knife
* one Honda Click 125I.
The suspect was taken to Police Station 6.
A complaint for violation of Republic Act 10591 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, would be filed against Villanueva./PN
