ILOILO City – Motorcycle riding-in-tandem gunmen shot a tricycle driver in Barangay Minanga, Dueñas, Iloilo.
Thirty-eight-year-old Raymund Bilaong of Barangay Kapay-Kapay, Dueñas, a robbery suspect, sustained gunshot wounds on his shoulders and head.
As of press time, he was confined at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Iloilo City.
The shooting happened on Saturday around 11:30 a.m. Bilaong was driving his motorcycle.
There were two suspects, said Inspector Bonifacio Alabe, Dueñas police chief.
They were aboard a red Honda motorcycle and wearing black jackets and helmets.
“No witness saw their faces but we are optimistic of solving this incident,” Alabe said.
As of press time, no suspect had been identified or arrested.
Policemen recovered from the crime scene empty shells of a .45 pistol.
Aside from robbery, Bilaong was also linked to a frustrated murder case.
“Perhaps these have something to do with the shooting,” said Alabe./PN
