ILOILO – About 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at P340,000 were confiscated in Barangay Bongloy, Dingle town by the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Dingle municipal police.
Five suspects were also arrested – Donnie Benecio, 50, farmer; Peter Paul Benecio, 25, unemployed; Don Christian Benecio, 23, student; Rico Benecio, 45, laborer, all residents of the aforementioned barangay; and Rouie Pelaez, 44, of Barangay Iwa Ilaud, Pototan town.
The suspects sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P7,000 on Friday, April 14.
Four unlicensed firearms, including two homemade shotguns and homemade .22 and .38 revolvers, and several non-drug items were also recovered.
The suspects will be charged for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
