HAMTIC, Antique – A 32-year-old alleged illegal drug dealer tested positive for the use of shabu, or methamphetamine hydrochloride.

Edsel Ronquillo of Barangay Malandog had undergone testing after his arrest in a buy-bust operation on April 7.

A “newly identified” drug suspect, Ronquillo was caught selling suspected shabu to an undercover officer, said Senior Inspector Bryan Alamo, Antique Police Provincial Office information officer.

Police also seized from Ronquillo P1,800 cash.

The suspect is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The arrest happened while a community-based rehabilitation program for drug surrenderers, “Exodus to Recovery,” is ongoing.

The program is in partnership with the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Provincial Drug Enforcement Agency, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the National Auxiliary Chaplaincy Philippines, Inc./PN
