THE FIRST official image from the anticipated “Harry Potter” television series has been revealed, offering fans an initial glimpse of the rebooted wizarding world ahead of a teaser trailer release.

HBO took to its social media pages on Wednesday, March 25, to share a photo that shows the new Harry Potter, played by Dominic McLaughlin, from behind as he walks toward what appears to be the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch.

McLaughlin’s Harry is dressed in Gryffindor-themed robe with the number 7 and “Potter” text on the back while he carries a broomstick against a snowy setting and a crowd in the background, hinting at a Quidditch match sequence.

The studio kept details simple, captioning the reveal with a concise “Tomorrow” alongside a lightning bolt emoji to signal an imminent trailer drop.

The series is a fresh adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books, with each season expected to cover one novel. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, will adapt “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.”

McLaughlin stars alongside Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, with a supporting cast that includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

Production began in 2025, and the series is currently slated to premiere in 2027. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
