Hawks rally past 76ers to tie series

MANILA – Atlanta Hawks leaned on a strong second-half rally to beat the top-seeded Philadelphia 76ers, 103-100, in Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday night at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Trae Young tallied a double-double of 25 points and 18 assists, while Bogdan Bogdanovic drilled four triples and ended with 22 markers as the Hawks evened their best-of-seven series at 2-2.

John Collins posted 14 points and 12 rebounds, Clint Capela added 13 rebounds and 12 points, while Kevin Huerter got 10 markers for Atlanta.

Trailing by 10 points in the third canto, the Hawks banked on Bogdanovic’s outside hits and inside conversions from Collins and Capela to cruise to an 80-82 lead.

Atlanta took a slim 85-84 edge in the fourth period behind baskets from Lou Williams, but Philadelphia reclaimed the lead at 97-93 via hits from Shake Milton and Fukuan Korkmaz.

The Hawks responded with a triple shot from Collins and four straight points from Young for a 101-99 gap. Two freebies by Young stretched Atlanta’s advantage to 103-100.

Tobias Harris top-scored with 20 points, Joel Embiid hauled 21 rebounds and 17 points, while Seth Curry chipped in 17 markers for the 76ers.

On the other hand, Los Angeles Clippers tied their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinals series with Utah Jazz to 2-2 after a 118-104 Game 4 domination.

Led by Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Marcus Morris Sr., the Clippers surged to an early double-digit edge, which climbed to as high as 29 points before thwarting Jazz’s late uprising.

George ended the match with 31 points and nine rebounds for the  Clippers. Leonard had 31 markers before leaving late in the fourth, while Morris scored 24 for the Clippers.
