‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ is PH’s all time highest grossing film

According to an Instagram post by Star Cinema, the movie is now officially the Philippines’ highest-grossing film of all time. As of Sept. 3, its worldwide gross earnings has amounted to P880,603,490.

“Hello, Love, Goodbye” is the story of Ethan (Alden Richards) and Joy (Kathryn Bernardo), two Overseas Filipino Workers in Hong Kong. In past interviews, Kathryn and Alden have both expressed just how over the moon they were with the movie’s success. Due to its popularity, pirated copies of the film were also shown on buses. The Optical Media Board has since confiscated the USB flash drives containing the movie file.

Alden was recently awarded the Asian Star Prize At The 2019 Seoul International Drama Awards. He totally caught the eye of Korean netizens, making him trend on South Korea’s search engine Naver. He’s also busy filming his new GMA series “The Gift,” where he plays a guy who receives special abilities after going blind.

On perhaps the biggest milestone a movie could achieve, Kathryn shared just how much the film means to her and her personal growth.

“Nag-start ang year na ‘to about growth, personal growth,” Kathryn said.

“Ang laking bagay nitong pelikula sa’’kin. Binuo niya pagkatao ko. Ito pinakamahirap na ginawa ko. As in hirap na parang ayoko na. Ang laki ng hiningi ng character, Kath said in a tweet by Star Cinema.

“Pinaka-lesson na nakuha ko dito is lahat tayo, we can be more. It’s okay to love yourself, na unahin mo minsan sarili mo,” Kathryn added. (Cosmo.ph)
