BACOLOD City – A drinking spree turned out to be fatal for a man in Barangay Bacuyangan, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental.
The 53-year-old resident Marion De la Torre was punched on the jaw, a police report showed.
Resident Edgar Brezuela, 47, was tagged suspect, it added. According to police investigators, De la Torre and Brezuela were having a drinking spree around 12 p.m. on May 7 when the former went berserk.
This prompted Brezuela to punch De la Torre, police said.
But the motive in the incident was not immediately established.
De la Torre was rushed to the Eleuterio T. Decena Memorial Hospital in Hinoba-an where the attending physician declared him “dead on arrival.”
Brezuela, meanwhile, was detained in the lockup facility of the Hinoba-an municipal police station, facing charges./PN
