PASSENGER traffic at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) reached almost 2.6 million during the recent holidays, up 6.86 percent from year-over-year (YoY).
The New NAIA Infra Corp.(NNIC) recorded 2,589,889 passengers from December 20, 2025 to January 4, 2026.
The NNIC also reported that passenger volume peaked at 180,089 last January 4 – the highest single-day passenger volume recorded so far.
Flights also increased by 3.29 percent YoY. NAIA handled 13,766 flights in the recent holidays, compared to 13,327 domestic and international flights the previous holiday period.
“Teams from NNIC, airlines, government agencies, and service partners worked closely throughout the holiday period to manage queues, flights, and passenger flow,” the San Miguel Corp.-led consortium said in a social media post.
It added: “We thank our passengers for their patience and understanding during their busy time. And we also want to recognize our airport workers – many of whom spent the holidays on duty, away from their loved ones – for their dedication and hard work in serving the public.”
The NNIC earlier implemented improvements and added amenities across the airport to support better passenger flow. (PNA)
