Holmgren guides OKC to escape win over New York

CHET Holmgren delivered a standout performance as Oklahoma City Thunder held off New York Knicks, 103-100, in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Wednesday night (Thursday in the Philippines) in New York.

Holmgren matched his career high with six three-pointers en route to 28 points, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 26 points and Lu Dort chipped in 16 for Oklahoma City, which secured its fourth straight victory.

The Thunder regained control in the fourth quarter after the Knicks erupted for 40 points in the third period to briefly take the lead. Oklahoma City moved back in front early in the final frame and maintained a narrow advantage until the closing seconds.

New York had a chance to force overtime, but Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby both missed three-point attempts on the final possession. The loss ended the Knicks’ three-game winning streak.

Karl-Anthony Towns paced New York with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Brunson finished with 16 points and a season-high 15 assists but struggled with his shooting. Anunoby contributed 16 markers.

At Boston, Kon Knueppel scored 20 points and Charlotte Hornets extended their win streak to six games with a a 118-89 domination over the Celtics.

Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball each added 18 points. Coby White finished with 17 points and six assists to help Charlotte (32-31) move above .500 for the first time since Oct. 26.

The Hornets, one of the surprising teams this season, never trailed and led by as many as 29 points while committing only five turnovers.

Derrick White led the Celtics with 29 points. Jaylen Brown added 20 points and 11 rebounds as Boston’s win streak was stopped at three games.

In other results, Portland Trail Blazers prevailed over Memphis Grizzlies, 122-114; while Philadelphia 76ers escaped with a 106-102 victory over Utah Jazz./PN
