HOTEL101 Global, Inc., a subsidiary of DoubleDragon Corporation, reported on April 28, 2026 robust early booking performance for its 680-room Hotel101-Madrid in Spain, the company’s first operational international property.
Since officially opening in March this year, Hotel101-Madrid has generated over 45,000 hotel night bookings, representing €5.44 million (approximately P387 million) in revenue. This successful entry into the European market bodes well for the brand’s global expansion.
Year 2026 marks a milestone year for DoubleDragon as it begins generating a high volume of recurring revenues from its portfolio, which includes provincial community mall, industrial warehouse and office leasing, alongside its hospitality portfolio in the Philippines and overseas.
In the Philippines, the 519-room Hotel101-Manila and the 606-room Hotel101-Fort continue to operate at consistently high occupancy levels. Following the Madrid opening, the company expects to begin generating revenue in Japanese Yen with the launch of the 482-room Hotel101-Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan, set to open in December this year.
Strategic partnership with Formula 1
Hotel101-Madrid has secured a prestigious designation as an official hotel partner for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix from 2026 to 2035 through an exclusive agreement with MATCH Hospitality Europe.
Ranked as one of the top five largest hotels in Madrid, the property sits on on a prime 6,593-square-meter site in Valdebebas. It is strategically positioned adjacent to the new Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix circuit, overlooking the iconic “Valdebebas Curve.” The hotel offers unparalleled accessibility and convenience, with a three-minute walk to Valdebebas Train Station, four minutes to the IFEMA convention complex, five minutes to the Real Madrid Sports Complex, and seven minutes to Madrid-Barajas International Airport.
The hotel features modern amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant HBNB Kitchen by award-winning La Sucursal, two swimming pools, a fitness center, children’s playground, 24/7 reception, business center, function rooms, and a proprietary app for seamless guest experiences, from digital check-in to digital key access.
Expansion milestones
DoubleDragon is set to achieve its highest number of room openings in a single year, with 2,229 additional rooms becoming operational this year. This includes the 680 rooms in Madrid, 482 rooms in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan, of 519 rooms in Davao, and 548 rooms in Cebu.
The DoubleDragon Group continues to tap the capital markets both in the Philippines and the United States to further boost its balance sheet towards its goal to increase its total equity base to P500 billion.
DoubleDragon expects the Hotel101 subsidiary – which utilizes an asset-light business model – to become a major homegrown brand and business model export to other countries that would generate a significant US Dollar inflow to the Philippine economy./PN
