ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) received brand new patrol cars from the city government.

Mayor Jerry P. Teñas turned over six Toyota Hilux 4×4 pickups to ICPO director Colonel Joeresty Coronica on Monday, April 17.

According to Coronica, the vehicles will be for the Mobile Patrol Unit of the ICPO to further strengthen its capability to patrol the seven districts of Iloilo City.

“This is a huge help in sustaining intensified police operations against all forms of criminality and for immediate response to emergency calls or police assistance,” said Coronica.

He added: “Ang bag-o nga patrol maga-augment sa mga police stations, especially sa gab-i kun sa diin ang krimen nagakatabo. They have no reason nga indi dayon sila maka-respond,” he added

The city’s top cop is also warning drivers of the patrol not to use the vehicles for personal matters./PN
