ILOILO City – The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is warning the public of home burglaries.
ICPO spokesperson Captain Shella Mae Sangrines said that residents must be responsible for their security especially during night time.
Sangrines cautioned residents to lock their doors when sleeping or going out of the house.
“We don’t want to be complacent; we always make sure that our doors were lock. Hindi tanan mabantayan sang pulis, but we are doing everything nga ma-prevent ang crime through the help of force multipliers and barangay officials,” Sangrines said.
The statement came after Mira Yza Costesm, 32, and Carl Bryan Anas, 26, were robbed in their apartment in Lopez Subdivision, Barangay Q. Abeto, Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
The suspect was identified as Jesseman Gayanan, who worked as a security guard.
Gayanan reportedly stole a 12 Pro phone worth P70, 000, a wallet containing cards, a laptop worth P30, 000, a speaker phone worth P1, 000, a Vivo phone worth P18, 000 and a bag with P3, 000 cash inside.
Police arrested Gayanan in his residence in Barangay Boulevard, Molo.
