BACOLOD City – They allegedly violated Presidential Decree (PD) 1602, a police report showed.
Officers from Silay City police station arrested six men in Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, the report further stated.
Residents Gil Espinosa, 42, Armando Mayo, 56, Defrey Hernaez, 45, Rolando Bernil, 35, Antonio de la Cruz, 62, and Joedenerie Binas, 34, were caught while they were engaging in illegal online cockfighting, police said.
PD 1602 prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling.
Recovered from the suspects were P523 gambling money and a television, said the police.
The suspects were detained at the Silay City police station lockup facility and facing charges./PN
