ILOILO City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod has been asked to approve a proposed P24.5-million allocation for executive assistants under Mayor Raisa Treñas’ office in 2027.
Budget documents showed that P24,534,636 has been earmarked for executive assistant positions, with the proposed staffing complement reaching 30, compared with the current 29 personnel.
The allocation, which forms part of the Office of the City Mayor’s proposed 2027 spending plan, remains subject to deliberation and approval by the city council.
The mayor’s office currently has 29 executive assistants holding positions ranging from Executive Assistant I to Executive Assistant V, performing administrative, technical and other support functions.
Among the highest-paid are mayoral spokesperson Mary Joy Fantilaga-Gorzal and Jose S. Espinosa III, both classified as Executive Assistant V, with an indicated annual salary of P1,178,220 each.
Other personnel listed in the budget documents include Rudiver R. Jungco Sr. (City Sports and Development Office), Fernando Jose G. Rico (Barangay Affairs), Katherine T. Tingson, Eleanor D. Gregorio (Senior Citizens and Persons with Disabilities Affairs), Jose Efrain G. Treñas III, Mark Ryan C. Acap (Iloilo City Atipan Center), Love Joy G. Hosenilla (Task Force ASIS), Raulen T. The staffing proposal also identifies several unfilled plantilla positions, including six Executive Assistant I posts and vacancies for Administrative Assistant V and IV.
Executive Assistant V carries the highest classification among the listed executive assistant ranks, with compensation varying according to position and salary grade.
The council’s budget deliberations will provide an opportunity to examine whether the proposed staffing allocation is justified by the operational requirements of the mayor’s office and consistent with the city government’s spending priorities./PN
