Iloilo City offers 5,000 jobs amid push for inclusive economic growth

ILOILO City – Nearly 5,000 job opportunities are up for grabs in this city until October, as part of the local government’s aggressive employment campaign under its economic recovery roadmap.

The Iloilo City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) reported that 1,912 jobseekers were successfully hired in July alone — 1,364 for local placements and 548 for overseas employment — marking a significant gain in the city’s ongoing push to boost labor participation.

From August to October, PESO expects to fill 4,647 vacancies pledged by industry partners, led by the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector with 3,202 positions.

Other available jobs are in logistics, services, industrial, agricultural, and overseas recruitment sectors.

“This surge in job openings supports our Rise to Action Strategy Roadmap, particularly under the ‘Rising Economy’ pillar,” said Mayor Raisa Treñas.

Her development roadmap also includes “Rising Livability” and “Rising Health and Social Services” to promote inclusive growth and improve quality of life for Ilonggos.

The city government lauded its private sector partners for their role in strengthening the local labor market and urged jobseekers to take advantage of the vacancies and upcoming job fairs spearheaded by PESO./PN
