Iloilo cops WVPRISAA basketball, sepak takraw crowns

ILOPRISAA runs away with the championship titles in secondary girls basketball and tertiary men’s sepak takraw of the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (WVPRISAA) Meet 2019 on Tuesday in Bacolod City.

ILOPRISAA, composed of players from Central Philippine University, completed its fight back in the secondary girls basketball series with a 75-71 win over NOPSSCEA in the do-or-die Game 3.

The Aaron Blanca-mentored ILOPRISAA first suffered a heartbreaking defeat to the NOPSSCEA in Game 1 on Sunday before bouncing back with a thrilling Game 2 win to force a deciding game.

Among the players in ILOPRISAA secondary girls basketball team were Gaz Kate Altas, Riza Hope Andrada, Crizia Capanas, Scarlet Corillo, Jeizsa Merel Espiritu, Nikka Parcon, and Edenn Grea Estapon.

Completing the squad were siblings Rena Alexia and Trixie Clarisse Jalbuena, Angelu May Yna Gadian, Klarize Getonzo, Mary Kathleen Golingan, Katherine Mae Jarloc, Thalia Ladiet, and Crissa Lyn Jardeleza.

ILOPRISAA also clinched a gold medal in the tertiary men sepak takraw event after a come-from-behind three setter victory over the NOPSSCEA on late Tuesday.

The ILOPRISAA tertiary men’s sepak takraw team was led by Baron Cabual, Jose Cudo, Jordan Fadulla, RV Gangoso, Jay-R Galia, Joshua Lamasan, and Hubert Padios.

Also in the team mentored by John Hiros Jalandoni, Keith Gallos were EJ Pareja, John Christian Soltones, Victor Sunio Jr., and Steven Togle./PN
