Ilonggo booter joins Dynamic Herb Cebu FC

MANILA – Ilonggo football player Jaime Rosquillo is set to spread his wings in the Queen City of the South after reaching a deal with the Dynamic Herb Cebu Football Club.

According to the Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo native defender, becoming part of the Cebu-based football club will play a huge role in his development.

“I am extremely grateful to be part of this team and to be able to represent Cebu! I am thankful to everyone in Cebu Football Club for giving me this great opportunity as a football player,” Rosquillo wrote on his Facebook post.

The 18-year-old Rosquillo formalized his deal following a meeting with the top officials of the football club recently.

He was the second Ilonggo football player who entered the Dynamic Herb Cebu FC aside from John Robert Solen of Sta. Barbara.

Rosquillo made a name for himself as a football standout from Barotac Nuevo National Comprehensive High School that attracted Manila-based schools to get his services for college.

The booter also got a chance to wear the country’s colors abroad and became one of the five Ilonggos tapped as part of the Philippines national under-17 football team that competed in the 2018 Asian Football Federation U-16 Championship in Surabaya, Indonesia. A year after, Rosquillo joined the under-18 men’s national team in the Asian Football Federation U-18 Championship in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Previously, Rosquillo played a key role for the Western Visayas Blue Barons football team that took home the boy’s football championship during the 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City./PN
