ILOILO City – The Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan, Iloilo has issued a travel advisory urging passengers bound for the Middle East via Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to verify their flight status before heading to the airport.
Escalating tensions in the Middle East threaten to disrupt regional airspace and airline operations.
The Iloilo airport management released the advisory following precautionary airspace restrictions in parts of the Middle East, which may trigger sudden flight delays, rerouting, or cancellations.
“Passengers with connecting flights at NAIA to Middle East destinations are advised to check their flight status before proceeding to the airport. Due to precautionary airspace restrictions in some parts of the region, flights may be delayed, rerouted, or canceled at short notice, depending on airline operations,” part sang flight advisory sang Iloilo International Airport posted sa ila Facebook Page.
Passengers were likewise encouraged to directly coordinate with their respective airlines for real-time updates, confirm their bookings prior to travel, and ensure their contact details are updated to receive important notifications.
Earlier, NAIA also issued a similar advisory, urging travelers to verify their schedules before proceeding to the airport.
The warning came after both Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines announced the cancellation or diversion of several Middle East-bound flights as the conflict continues to impact aviation routes.
