MANILA – Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio will be the next to be arrested by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in relation to her father former President Rodrigo Duterte’s crimes against humanity case, according to Sen. Imee Marcos.

The senator claimed having received reports that Duterte-Carpio is now allegedly among the top targets for arrest after previously being low on the list.

“Alam natin na si VP Sara ay nandoon sa listahan, nasa ibaba siya doon. Ngunit ilang araw nakalipas may mga report na siya na ang uunahin,” Marcos said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Though Marcos admitted that she based this claim on a “rumor” and “haka-haka”, Marcos wants to make it clear that she will oppose that warrant.

If ever the arrest pushes through, Duterte-Carpio may join her father, who is currently housed at the ICC detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands following his arrest in the Philippines last month.

Duterte-Carpio claimed in an interview on Monday that her name appears on a list of Philippine officials set to be arrested by the ICC in connection with the bloody war on drugs of Duterte

“Oo. Nasa listahan ako… marami kami na nasa listahan ng ICC,” Duterte-Carpio said in an interview in Carcar City, Cebu. “Nalaman ko iyan kasi pagdating ko doon, nagtataka ako bakit sa simula puwede pa ako bumisita araw-araw.”

“Hininto nila, pagkatapos nire-record na ang mga pinag-uusapan namin ni Pangulong Duterte. So, naiintindihan namin na nakikinig sila sa aming usapan,” the Vice President added.

But according to Duterte-Carpio, she believes her own arrest is “still far down the line,” with several high-profile figures allegedly prioritized ahead of her.

“Hindi lang ako, malayo pa ang pangalan ko doon. Ang nauna sa mga pangalan doon ay si Sen. Bato dela Rosa, dating PNP (Philippine National Police) chief (Oscar) Albayalde at iba pa. Naroon din ang pangalan ni (Sen.) Bong Go. Mauna muna sila, bago ako,” she said./PN
