ILOILO – Expect a more intensified campaign against illegal drugs. The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) named the drive “Comprehensive Program on Drug Elimination, Arrests, Rehabilitation and Training.”
According to Senior Superintendent Harold Tuzon, the program’s objective is to clear the image of Iloilo as the “most shabu-lized” in the country.
Included in its action plan is the declaration of the province as drug-free by March 2017 through the intensified implementation of Oplan Double Barrel Alpha, Project Tokhang and Taphang, as well as internal cleansing of the IPPO.
On the aspect of rehabilitation, the project intends to implement a community-based approach.
IPPO also hopes to expand the Pototan Drug Rehabilitation Center and if possible, establish district drug rehabilitation centers.
Tuzon also recommended the activation of the Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Council (PADAC) which will work hand in hand with the BADAC (Barangay Anti-Illegal Drugs Council) and MADAC (Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Council (MADAC)./PN
