ILOILO City – Around P1.9 million worth of suspected shabu was seized from the three drug suspects in two separate anti-illegal drugs operations in Tigbauan, Iloilo on Monday, August 12.
The first operation was carried out by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) in Barangay Bagumbayan around 2:45 p.m.
They caught alias “JG,” 35, of the town’s Barangay Purok 4 Poblacion who yielded 180 grams of suspected shabu worth around P1,224,000.
Two hours later, a buy-bust operation in Barangay Napnapan Norte resulted to the arrest of aliases “Mike,” 36, and “VL,” 22, both residents of Barangay Napnapan Norte.
PDEU officers recovered 100 grams of shabu approximately value at P680,000.
According to Major Harold Rendora of PDEU, JG was under surveillance for several months until they were able to get an asset who transacted with him together with a police poseur buyer.
“We transacted with JG first and he later revealed that aliases Mike and VL were his companions. We immediately transacted with Mike and VL and they were also arrested for selling P14,000 worth of shabu,” Rendora said.
All three suspects were detained at the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station and they will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
IPPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan lauded his men for another big accomplishment through the help of the community .
“I commended the exemplary performance of our operating team and the Ilonggos’ drive to eradicate illicit drugs. Let us continue our collaboration for a more secure, drug-free, and progressive Iloilo,” Razalan added./PN
