IPPO nets P107-M illegal drugs, 475 drug suspects in a year

ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) seized P107 million worth of illegal drugs and apprehended 475 drug suspects in a year of operations.

Data from the IPPO showed that from April 19, 2024 to April 19 this year, Iloilo cops under the leadership of Colonel Bayani Razalan conducted a total of 368 anti-illegal drug operations which resulted to the seizure of 26 kilos of shabu.

Of those arrested, 117 were classified as high-value targets, IPPO added.

Razalan was thankful to his men and the community as well for the continued trust to the Ilonggo cops by providing information regarding the activities of drug personalities.

“We could not achieve these accomplishments without the help of our populace and the dedication of the police personnel in arresting drug personalities,” said Razalan.

In the campaign against fugitives, 1,066 individuals were arrested from 1,064 operations across the province. Of the number, 252 belonged to the top 10 most wanted list.

One of the significant operations was the neutralization of several leaders and members of the Lego-Libuna gang.

The IPPO also recovered a total of 807 loose firearms from 173 suspects: 201 through police operations, 451 surrendered, and 155 deposited.

Additionally, Iloilo cops’ intensified campaign against illegal gambling resulted to the arrest of 374 bet collectors and confiscation of P135,000 in bet money from 146 operations.

They also netted 806 illegal fishers and 466 fishing vessels.

“No let-up tayo sa lahat na illegal activities dito sa ating nasasakupan. Patuloy pa rin ang ating operations against lawless elements to maintain peace and order. I would like to thank the Ilonggos for their support to the police,” Razalan added./PN
