Jalandoni NHS claims 8th straight taekwondo title in City Meet

JALANDONI Memorial National High School claimed its eighth straight overall taekwondo title in the 2018 Iloilo City School Sports Council Meet.

Jalandoni Memorial bagged 10 medals in boys (six gold, two silver and two bronze) and 10 in girls (seven golds, two silver and one bronze).

Adelyn Poral and Jelyn Grace Domiquel captured a gold medal each in girls individual poomsae before teaming up with Indara Hermusora to win team poomsae. Domiquel had her third gold in mixed pairs with Dominic Jake Amoroso.

Amoroso and Justin Mark Galvez took a gold each in boys individual poomsae before nabbing the team event gold with Jay Mark Tabutol.

Capturing gold in kyorugi (sparring) were Charlie Chua, Seth Caparal, Jason Patrick Paniza, Airesh Alviz, Vanessa Jean Bungalso, and Franzine Delayre.

Nikko John Paredes, Lenard John Mayang, Antoniette Alviz, and Leana Ancelly Deciembre won silver, while Joe Mark Tabutol, Steve Ian Michael Omelan and Aiza Trinidad bagged bronze.

“We prepare for this yearly event to give honor to our school, coaches, trainers, and teammates,” mentor Medy Alcarde said in a statement. “We give back all the glory to our God most high.”/PN
