MANILA – Konrad Keim Sollorin was one of the five who will represent the Philippines in the Allianz Junior Football Camp from July 31 to Aug. 4 in Bali, Indonesia.
Sollorin – a native of Janiuay, Iloilo – is joining Malaya Football Club’s Jan Meir Mitra, Tuloy sa Don Bosco’s Michael Antillo and Archie Dela Cruz, and Cordillera Goshen Land’s Aeron Christian Tenollar.
Sollorin recently led the I, Pagasa team to a third-place finish in the 2017 U-15 Governor’s Cup football tournament in Iloilo City.
The 14-year-old also represented Ateneo de Iloilo in the U-11 Invitational Championships in Mandaue City, Cebu province.
The five were chosen during the National Youth Futsal Cup organized by the Allianz PNB Life in partnership with the Philippine Football Federation and Henry V. Moran Foundation in May.
Coach Jess Landagan will lead the Philippine delegation in the four-day football training program, which will be spearheaded by the German football club Bayern Munich under youth coaches Maximillian Knauer and Giovane Elber.
Tough competition is also seen among the Filipino booters. Two of them will have the chance to join a global youth camp in Munich, Germany.
“I believe anyone of them has a strong chance to make it to the global youth camp,” Landagan said. “I am just concerned with the cohesiveness of the team.”
“May isang araw kami na magkakasama-sama. It’s the time na mag-practice kami and i-emphasize ko na lang sa kanila ang bonding and teamwork na pwede mabuo sa maiksing panahon ng pagsasama namin,” he said./PN
