ILOILO City – Wielding a steel pipe, a 33-year-old man allegedly went berserk and destroyed properties in the house of his sister-in-law, a police report showed.
There appeared to be a misunderstanding between the 44-year-old Cristina Gellangarin and brother-in-law Kenny Gellangarin.
Cristina was in her house in Phase 4, Landheights Subdivision, Barangay Balabago, Jaro district around 7:30 p.m. on May 30 when Kenny barged in and angrily told her, “Ano ang ginaubra mo ngaa pati bata ko pahilabtan mo?” she told the police.
Kenny then swung the steel pipe at her but she dodged the attack, Cristina said. She scampered toward her bedroom and locked the door.
Kenny tried to forcibly open her bedroom door but failed.
He then went to the living room and struck appliances, including a television and several gadgets, and took an undetermined amount of cash, she told the police.
Kenny also commandeered her Chevrolet Sonic car and crashed it against the wall of the house, claimed Cristina.
Kenny, who was also residing in the subdivision, left after the incident. He cannot be reached for comment as of this writing./PN
