JIMMY Butler is finally headed to a new team after being shipped by Miami Heat to Golden State Warriors in a four-team, multi-player trade on Wednesday night (Thursday in the Philippines).
The player-swap transaction was completed after Butler agreed to sign a two-year, $121-million contract extension with the Warriors, one of his preferred trade destinations.
The Heat, which were looking to unload Butler for several weeks now, secured the services of Andrew Wiggins, PJ Tucker, Kyle Anderson, and a future first round draft pick from the Warriors.
Detroit Pistons, on the other hand, got Lindy Waters III, Josh Richardson, and a future second-round pick, and Dennis Schröder was shipped to Utah Jazz from the Warriors.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee Bucks strengthened their wing position with the acquisition of one-time NBA champion Kyle Kuzma from Washington Wizards in a three-team, six-player swap.
In the trade deal agreed on Wednesday night, the Bucks send Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson and a pick swap to the Washington Wizards for Kuzma, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and second-round draft compensation.
In the second part of the trade, the Bucks acquired young center Jericho Sims from New York Knicks in exchange for veteran point guard Delon Wright.
In a separate deal, the Wizards send Jonas Valanciunas to Sacramento Kings for Sidy Cissoko and two second-round picks for the year 2028 and 2029.
New Orleans Pelicans, for their part, have traded Brandon Ingram to Toronto Raptors in exchange for Bruce Brown Jr., Kelly Olynyk, one first-round pick and one second-rounder.
Los Angeles Lakers also strengthened their center position by acquiring Mark Williams from Charlotte Hornets in exchange for rookie Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish, a 2031 unprotected first-round pick and a 2030 pick swap.
Oklahoma City Thunder, on the other hand, has added depth to its frontline rotation by acquiring center Daniel Theis and a 2031 second-round draft pick from New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for cash considerations.
Boston Celtics shipped Jaden Springer and their 2030 second-round pick to Houston Rockets for cash considerations, while Philadelphia 76ers also KJ Martin and two second-round picks to Detroit Pistons for cash./PN
